FPU Vice-President
Sergiy UKRAYINETS
Sergiy Ukrayinets was born on October 8, 1957 in the village Novoselytsia, Khmelnytskiy region. In 1979 he graduated from the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy and in 1996 – from the Kyiv Shevchenko University where he received a degree in law.
In 1979 he started to work as an electrician, then as an engineer at Kuchakivskiy poultry farm in the village Lebedyn, Kyiv region. From 1981 to 1985 he was in the Komsomol, first in the Boryspil City Committee, and then in the Kyiv Regional Committee.
His trade union activity he started in October 1985 as a head of the organisational department of the Kyiv Regional Trade Union Committee of the Trade Union of Agricultural Workers. From 1986 to 1987 he worked in the Centre of Labour Efficiency and Production Management of the Ministry of Breadmaking of Ukraine.
In March 1987 he started to work in the Ukrainian Republican Council of Trade Unions (Ukrprofrada). At the Ukrprofrada, Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Ukraine, Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine he worked until April 2000 as an instructor, head of social and economic protection and labour relations department, and head of department of protection of worker’s economic interests.
Then during three years he worked as a head of social and economic department of the Trade Union of Marine Transport Workers of Ukraine – a FPU member organisation.
From 2003 till his election as a FPU Vice-President he worked as a civil servant – social and humanitarian policy adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and adviser to the Ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
On April 5, 2006 at the meeting of the FPU Council, that was held after the 5th FPU Congress, Sergiy Ukrayinets was elected Vice-President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine.
