All-Ukrainian protest action of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine
All-Ukrainian protest action of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine was held on 23 December 2008 in Kyiv. It began with a rally in the Independence Square and continued with a peaceful demonstration and pickets of the Government and Parliament's buildings with handing of the FPU demands to the higher public officials of Ukraine.

National Protest Action
The Presidium of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine at its meeting on 5 Decemebr 2008 decided to hold the National Protest Action in Kiev on 23 December 2008. FPU affiliates will organise similar protest actions in regions on 17 December 2008.

Raider Attacks on Trade Unions
On Sunday 16 and Monday 17 November 2008 in most regions of Ukraine and in Kyiv there were coordinated attempts to seize and retain the buildings of regional trade union associations – affiliates of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine – and of the Trade Union House in Kyiv. As we have been informed the seizures were made by groups of goons arrived mostly from Kyiv and Kyiv region by minibuses. Using physical force, these groups penetrated into trade union premises, broke offices' door locks, damaged office equipment. In some cases they succeeded to steal documents, including minutes of elected bodies meetings, and seals.

No to shadow wages
On 7 October within the frameworks of the World Day for Decent Work the FPU Youth council after a short rally burnt an envelope with shadow wages in front of the building of the Ukrainian organisation of industrialists and entrepreneurs. Chair of the Youth council Vasyl Andreev held a mini press-conference for mass media on the spot.

On June 25, 2008 some Ukrainian Internet news sites (pravda.com.ua, podrobnosti.ua) published articles throwing mud at the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine and its President. It was done, as usual, by the chairman of the National Trade Union Forum Myroslav Yakibchuk. He asserts: «...the court adjudged the leader of official trade unions to be criminal idler».
