Ukrainian trade union federation -

   In the framework of Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FPU) Days have taken place meetings of FPU leadership with trade-union activists of several regions. In particular, Oleksander Yurkin, FPU President has visited Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhya region, FPU Vice-presidents Grygoriy Osovyi and Igor Lutsyshyn accordingly Kherson and Ternopil regions, FPU Secretary Yury Kulyk – Donetsk region.
   In a number of meetings have taken part representatives of trade-union organisations non-FPU members, but who share its program positions.
   Presentations of FPU leaders had frank and practical character. They have informed on situation in trade-union movement of Ukraine, key problems for FPU and its member organisations, and also told about plans for the future.
   During the meetings they focused on explanation of substantive provisions of General agreement 2008 – 2009, Memorandum of partnership and cooperation between the Cabinet of Ukraine and all-Ukrainian trade unions and associations which have been signed due to active position of trade-union party and became the important step in protection of social and economic rights of workers.
   At meetings were considered a situation in sphere of labour protection and FPU activity in this connection, in particular, regarding the return to trade unions some functions connected with control of working conditions. Also were discussed questions of management the trade unions property complex and necessity of resistance to attempts of discredit the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, the prolonged consideration of draft Labour code.
   Participants of meetings have stated a number of critical remarks and constructive offers to Federation in order to stir up its activity on upholding the basic rights of workers.
   At meetings have been accepted addresses to President of Ukraine, Prime minister of Ukraine, General Prosecutor of Ukraine with the requirement to prosecute the leadership of National Forum of Trade Unions of Ukraine and so-called «Committee on protection of rights of trade unions members of FPU» for the organisation of series of provocative actions directed to discredit Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine.
   Visits of FPU leadership to regions of Ukraine will proceed and within the next weeks. The main purpose of present visits – to correct FPU work and its apparatus, taking into account the current social and economic situation in the country, in the conditions of necessity the price stabilization and control the inflationary processes.
